How does a pickup work?

Request a pickup online and tell us what's going. A Jamiez team member confirms your day and a time window. On pickup day, hand your items to us at the door. We photograph them, pack and label anything that needs it, and drop everything with the carrier or the retailer's return counter. You get a photo at each step on your tracking page.

Do I need to be home?

Yes, you or someone else at home. We don't collect things left outside, so someone needs to hand us your items during the time window we confirm. Jamiez members can set up a regular pick-up spot with their Jamiez lead instead, or have us install a lock box.

Do I have to box my returns?

Not when the retailer's QR return lets you drop items off unboxed, as Amazon's no-box returns do. For anything else, we can pack it for you.

What does postage cost?

The carrier's published price: the Post Office counter price for USPS, or FedEx's list price. We buy postage at lower commercial rates and keep the difference. Try the postage estimate to see prices for your parcel.

Is there a subscription?

No. You pay per pickup: $4.95 on your neighborhood's route days, $9.95 on other days. Pickup is free for Jamiez members.

Can you come today?

We book pickups from the next weekday. JamiezShipz is a convenience, not an emergency service, and that's how we keep it affordable.

What can’t you take?

Hazardous materials, weapons, loose lithium batteries, cash and valuables like bullion, perishable food, live animals and a few other things. See the full list on services and limits. Items can be up to 50 lb each.

What if something is lost or damaged?

We're responsible for your items from pickup until the carrier or return counter accepts them, up to $100 per package. After that, the carrier's terms apply, and we'll help you file a claim. For valuable items, we can add the carrier's own coverage at the carrier's price.

Who picks up my things?

Jamiez team members: the same neighborhood team behind Jamiez household support, not a different stranger from an app each time.

Can I drop things off at your office?

Jamiez members can arrange a drop-off with their Jamiez lead. The office isn't a public drop-off counter.

Where do you pick up?

Willow Glen first, where the Jamiez team already works. Check your ZIP code or join the waitlist and we'll tell you when we reach you.

What does “pilot” mean?

We're testing JamiezShipz with a small group of invited Willow Glen households before opening to everyone. If you have an invite code, request a pickup as usual; otherwise join the waitlist and we'll tell you when pickups open. No payment is taken online during the pilot, and a Jamiez team member confirms every pickup, and any charges, with you before we come by. Questions? Call (408) 320-9890.
